MADE IN BED proudly introduces our newest Interviews Co-Editor, Maya Kil!

Maya Kil is a MACA student at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Originally from Latvia, Maya has moved to the UK to do her BA in Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Kent. During her Bachelor’s degree, her interest in art theory dominated over practice, which led her to the choice of studying Contemporary art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London.

During her University career, Maya has been a part of a curatorial collective Tapped In based in Folkstone and assisted installation and performance artist Alicia Radage in setting up their solo exhibition. She has also taken a leading role in the organisational process of the annual auction Outbid at UCA and auctioneered there which she hopes to do again one day as she describes it as one of the greatest experiences of her life.

Maya has a passion for discussing arts, listening about it, and sharing her own opinion which was one of her primary issues for joining MIB. And of opinions, she has a lot, which she is eager to share with anyone who cares to listen or read. Maya’s aspirations for the future path involve continuing to write about art, over time learning more and being able to observe it from many different perspectives.

For all MADE IN BED Interviews enquiries, please email Maya at mk2376@sia.edu.
