MADE IN BED proudly introduces our newest Social Media Manager, Mariana Duque Mordecai!
I’m a 26-year-old Colombian, born and raised in Bogotá. I studied at an Italian school in Colombia, where I first developed my love for art. After that, I pursued a degree in Architecture and Art History at the University of Los Andes, also completing a minor in Sociology. I’m particularly interested in bottom-up urbanism, working on projects that aim to uplift vulnerable communities. My background in sociology gives me a unique perspective, helping me design urban interventions that are thoughtful, inclusive, and sensitive to the social realities of each context.
After graduating, I worked for a while as an architect, focusing mostly on interior design projects. My favorite project during this time was the renovation of an office in downtown Bogotá dedicated to the commercialization of emeralds. Later, I moved on to work at an auction house, where I primarily focused on the commercialization of Latin American art. It was during this time that I developed a deep love for 20th-century Brazilian art, which has become one of my greatest passions.
