Charlotte Sear

Charlotte Sear's paintings investigate the world of emotions by seeking harmony and balance within them. The artist breaks the boundaries between instinct and rationality through the colours and the figures' sinuous lines.

About

Franco-British artist Charlotte Sear lives and works between Swindon (England) and Poitou Charente (France), where she holds her two artist studios. After graduating in Art and Design at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués and des Métiers d'Arts in Paris, she decided to abandon the craft, preferring the painting's speed expression. Her education's artistic influences, such as Art Nouveau, can still be found within her paintings through the structure and the division of the canvas surface. Charlotte artistic production, which consists of acrylic paintings on canvas, investigates the relationship between the element irrational of emotions and its expression through rhythms and plots. Using painting as her personal language, the result is constant research of balance and harmony to transform and rearrange her expression instinct within the canvas's space. The artist latest series, " Flowerbeds in my head," is a constant investigation through her own personal impulses and the need for their rearrangement within her works.
