MADE IN BED proudly introduces our newest En Plein Air Co-Editor, Anastassia Taylor!
Anastassia was born and raised in Estonia. Her love for art was developed during early teens when she was admitted to the School of Fine Arts in her hometown as an extracurricular activity. Being resistant to art as a child, she did not realise the undiscovered passion until later when the calling for art started to manifest in different facets of her life. It is only then the seemingly inexplicable desire to be forever surrounded by art started to gradually make sense.
She graduated with Advertising and Marketing Communications degree from the University of Bedfordshire. With extensive experience in various marketing roles, Anastassia spent most of her time living and working in Cambridge and almost fifteen years in the United Kingdom.
During this time, she took any opportunity to explore London art scene, take lessons in art history and also embarked on an online mastery programme in Milan Art Institute. She is now a practicing mixed media artist specialising in portraiture and is currently working on her artistic portfolio. Most recently during her work assignment in Saudi Arabia, she was also teaching oil painting to the residents of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) near Jeddah.
The nature of her profession working on creative projects coupled with fascination by the art world spurred the realisation of a career shift. Business acumen combined with passion for art led her to pursue MA Art Business with Sotheby’s Institute of Art, relocating back to the UK from Saudi Arabia.
Aside from current studies you can find Anastassia in her studio behind the easel or sketching. She is making the most of her pockets of time by reading art- or neuroscience-related books. Theatre outings are always abundantly satisfying. Recently you can find Anastassia travelling in the Gulf or back home Estonia, exploring art scenes further afield.
