Reflecting upon ‘A Virtual Symposium: Presented by Salon 21 & MADE IN BED ft. Nana Wolke’

MADE IN BED’s Editor-in-Chief, Lorna Tiller, speaks with Alex Bass and Nana Wolke for the first joint venture. MADE IN BED is excited to expand its community and contribute to the exponential shift in attitude we can observe as the world begins to communicate online.

Salon 21, in partnership with Sotheby's Institute of Art's student publication - MADE IN BED - presents its first virtual artist talk. Reaching across the globe, from New York (Salon 21 HQ) to London (Made in Bed HQ) to Athens (Nana's quarantine studio), we are excited to engage with you through Zoom to talk about the state of the arts during COVID-19 and present a close friend and contemporary emerging artist.
Artist Nana Wolke (b. 1994, Ljubljana) received her BFA with honours at the Academy of Visual Arts in Ljubljana and is currently studying at Goldsmiths for her MFA in London. Her work has been featured internationally and in 2019, she held her first solo show at Stekleni Atrij Gallery in Ljubljana, SI. She is also a recipient of the Ministry of Culture of Slovenia’s Scholarship for promising young artists. To learn more about Nana's practice, click here.
During this conversation, Nana will share her artistic practice, including a new series inspired by the popular 2000s game The Sims 2 and paintings focusing on the imagery of windows and doors, both as forms of thinking about and responding to the new reality of life in quarantine during COVID-19. The talk will be mediated by Alex Bass, founder of Salon 21, who is currently receiving her MA in Art Business at Sotheby's Institute of Art in London.

Thank you Salon 21 and Nana Wolke. It was our pleasure.

Lorna Tiller,

Editor-in-Chief, MADE IN BED
