About

By declaring the dissociation of any gender identity, the stage name Luisa Me (‘him with me’ in Pesaro dialect) of the Italian duo Luca Colagiacomo and Francesco Pasquini reveals their union in an undefined individuality. Luisa Me artistic production is constant research based on the deepest aspects of human introspection. Primitive, anthropomorphic figures animate the artist's paintings and sculptures, exploiting the symbolic power of the Italian artistic tradition to create fragments of solidity in a society like the contemporary one in which time seems never to stop. In doing so, the memory of the images of the pictorial tradition returns in the works of Luisa Me through the evocation of their symbolic power, which assumes a central role in artistic production. Intrinsic of sacredness, the four-handed works oscillate between the need to push the limits of the surface of the canvas to the margins and the solidity of the figures depicted. Thus, Luisa Me does not provide a univocal answer to the inner condition of the contemporary human being but constantly investigates the possibilities of the progress of its existence. The rebellion of the subjects of the main body is not forgotten in Luisa Me's latest production. The powerful gestures are channeled into everyday representations that break order through an innocent sacredness, contrasting the skyline against the backdrop of the London industrial world engaged in constant frenetic development. Luisa Me has exhibited in various international exhibitions and his works are part of the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Marche, Urbino, Italy.
